About

I’m Rory. I am a therapist based in Bedford, Nova Scotia.

I am a client-centered therapist who helps individuals facing a many different challenges. Some of the areas I work in are: stress, life transitions (e.g., graduating university, entering the workforce, career transitions), self-injury, depression, anxiety, strategies for managing ADHD, suicide, and men’s issues.

I am a Registered Professional Counsellor registered with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association and a Registered Counselling Therapist with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. I completed a 2-year supervised candidacy with a CPCA-approved supervisor to obtain full licensure. Additionally, I complete regular professional development training and maintain professional membership and liability insurance within my profession. I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with honours in psychology, and completed graduate coursework in counselling theories, assessment, and professional ethics.

I began working in mental health through online support groups for people who struggled with depression, self-injury, suicidal thoughts, and eating disorders. During my senior year of university I became interested in the potential of the using the internet as a platform for delivering counselling, and after my internship I worked as a counsellor with an online on-demand therapy platform for 5 years.

As a Registered Professional Counsellor I adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and Professional Practice Standards.

I am a board member of the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association and the Chair of the Governance Committee.
