About

I’m Rory. I am a therapist based in Bedford, Nova Scotia.

As a compassionate and client-centered therapist, I help individuals navigate a range of challenges, including stress, life transitions, self-injury, depression, anxiety, ADHD management, suicide, and men’s issues.

I am a Registered Professional Counsellor with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association and a Registered Counselling Therapist with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. I completed a 2-year supervised candidacy with a CPCA-approved supervisor, and continually invest in professional development through various training activities and peer consultation. My academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts with honours in psychology, as well as graduate coursework in counselling theory, assessment, and ethics.

My passion for mental health started with online support groups for individuals struggling with depression, self-injury, suicidal thoughts, and eating disorders. During my university years, I saw the potential of the internet as a platform for delivering therapy and after my internship, I spent 5 years as a counsellor with an online on-demand therapy platform.

As a professional in the field, I strictly adhere to the Code of Ethics and Professional Practice Standards set by the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association and the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists.

I am honored to serve as a board member of the CPCA and currently hold the role of Chair of the Governance Committee, Board Secretary, and National Director for Atlantic Canada.
